Thermalon Digital Eye Strain

Daily Exercises for Eye Health

Commit to a daily routine for eye hydration and eye health

One of the best ways to maintain your vision and eye health is to develop a daily routine of hydration and eye health exercises. Eye exercises are meant to strengthen the eyes and help improve vision. Just like any other muscle in the body, before we exercise our eyes, we want to make sure that they are properly warmed up and hydrated. Use the Thermalon Moist Heat Dry Eye Compress as a part of your daily eye health routine to revitalize your eyes with healthy, natural moisture and prepare them for your eye exercises.

Our eyes endure lots of strain throughout the day. Everything from staring at a computer screen, to exposure to particularly dry climates and excessive sun can cause our eyes to become dry, tired and irritated. Ignoring the symptoms will only cause the gradual degradation of your overall eye health. Moisturize and relieve dry or tired eyes with the Thermalon Moist Heat Dry Eye Compress. The patented HydroPearls technology inside the mask wicks moisture from the air to be returned as a soothing, deep penetrating moist heat. Relax with the compress over your eyes for up to 10 minutes to stimulate healthy tear production and prepare your eyes for your daily exercises.

Blinking

Seem simple? It is! This is the easiest workout you’ll do all day. Simply dedicate 30-60 seconds to become conscious of your blink rate. It’s likely that if you’ve been subjecting your eyes to any sort of strain that your blink rate has slowed, contributing to the sensations of dry eye. Take this opportunity to blink rapidly and allow your tear film to stabilize. When you return to your normal activities, try to blink every 3-4 seconds.

Figure Eight

Next, picture the outline of the number eight approximately 10 feet in front of you. Now trace the outline of the eight moving only your eyes, not your entire head. Picture a car racing around a track or an ice skater making a figure eight. Move your eyes slowly and allow them to feel the stretch. Be sure to switch directions after 30-60 seconds.

Focus Near and Far

Perhaps you’re already familiar with the 20-20-20 rule, which suggests that every 20 minutes you should look up from your computer screen and focus on an object 20 feet away for approximately 20 seconds. Taking frequent breaks to focus on an object far away helps reduce the effects of digital eye strain. For your daily eye health routine, you’re going to take this one step farther and spend 60 seconds alternating your focus on near and far objects. Spend five seconds looking at an object within 3 feet of you, then spend the next five seconds looking at an object at least 10 or more feet away. Alternative every five seconds for the remainder of the minute. Repeat this exercise with one eye covered at a time to workout each eye individually.

Trace a Pattern

This is the most creatively stimulating eye exercise. Find a natural or artificially occurring pattern in your surroundings and trace it with your eyes. This builds focusing ability as well as muscle stability. Try tracing each of the individual lines in your hardwood flooring or following a pattern in your tiles to utilize elements of your surroundings.

If your eyes feel tired after you complete your daily exercises apply the Thermalon Moist Heat Dry Eye Compress for another 10 minutes to allow your eyes to thoroughly relax and rehydrate after your workout.
